Memorial Weekend Part 3

We went to Legoland. I took Tuesday and Wednesday off, post Memorial day, to have a little more quality time with the kids and a relaxing day for me. Tuesday was spent at Legoland. It was a nice sunny day, although only reached about 65 so in the shade a wee bit cold. We went on several rides, had a picnic, ate ice cream and watched the "Fire Show". They had a really great time, but were sad we couldn't go on the roller coasters. The downside of a one adult outing to Legoland is you can only go on rides that allow one adult and two kids.... So no Dino-Coaster, Helicopters, Airplanes or Logrides this time out. Oh well, something for the kiddies to look forward too next time.
Waiting in line for the "speed" boats. And I use the term speed loosely.
On to a quick little update. The kids are just great these days. The play (read fight) a lot, but for the most part are getting along really well. We are outside all the time now. Wes has added hockey and football to his favorite sports so now he plays golf, baseball, basketball, soccer, football and hockey. He is very coordinated for a two year old and can whack the golf ball, hit the baseball from the tee and throw all the other balls without problem. He certainly is a well rounded athlete that is for sure... Madeline continues to play sports too.

Funny little things that have happened recently. Last night Madeline was talking about her day at school, it was "share day" and she shared her new pink basketball and her pink book. She was trying to remember what the little friends in the class asked her and she started talking (I thought to me) but then she said, "Is that right mind? Oh, no, that's not right". "Ok mommy I'm going to need to have a think on this. My mind is not telling me the right thing right now." And she had the cutest little thinking face on. I have noticed that she refers to thinking and her mind a lot these days. I'll ask what she wants to eat and she will say, "well Mommy, my mind is telling me I need some chocolate."
Wes is still talking away these days and we get about 95% of what he is saying... But the other night we were having story time before bed and Madeline started goofing around and WEs started yelling "Madeline is a boofgall, Madeline is a boofgall." It took us a second to realize he was trying to say GoofBall and then he had everyone laughing. Now that is there biggest thing, they run around the house telling daddy and mommy that we are boofgalls.
And finally, the bad knock knock jokes are catching on with Wesley William. Here was his first joke told to me, last night May 28th.... Another REALLY awful one.. At least by age 4 Madeline is telling jokes that actually make sense. They might not be funny, but they make sense.
Wes- "Knock Knock"
Heather- "Who's there?"
Wes- "Grandmema and bepa" (he's talking about Mema (Pat) and Bepa (Bill)
Heather- "Grandmema and bepa who?"
Wes- starts hysterically laughing...." ahh-snow white." (and now he's switched gears and is talking about the pet mouse in his class, Snow White."
