Our last Soccer Game

The YMCA soccer season is now over and after 8 games the kids have really taken to the sport. Wes is a machine. He may not be the fastest but he sure has a lot of heart. He chases that ball down the entire time and never gives up. He also bounces right back up. Anyone who has ever seen 3 years olds play soccer knows that it's a crazy mess of all kids kicking at one ball. He must have been tripped, pushed or shoved 10 times this last game, but he gets right back in there more determined then ever. He loves to dribble and take shots on goal. He's scored in every game at least one goal and sometime 2 or 3, but if you ask him he scores 5. Every game he says I scored 5 goals! Look at that determination.

Madeline is also an athlete. She's starting to master the finer points of the game. She now knows and understands that you can defend your own goal to prevent the other team from scoring. This past week was really fun to watch her. She would be up playing forward chasing the ball and then immediately turn and run back once the other kids got a break away. She saved a few goals too. The little speedster got the angle on a break away, made it back in time to block the boys shot. It was awesome... She was as excited blocking the shot as she was when she scored for herself. See the picture below, I caught the blocked shot on camera.
