Happy New Year!!!! 2011 is off to a fun start. We got to celebrate Jim's birthday on January 2nd with Granddaddy and Granellie. They arrived on the 2nd and stayed two days and spent lots of time playing Foosball and mancala and generally hanging out with us and the kids. Madeline and Wes couldn't have been happier to spend time with them.
This weekend we celebrated Madeline's birthday. I think from now on, whenever we have a big party, it will not be near Christmas and her birthday. This was much easier. We spent three hours with a lot of her friends and family at the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. Madeline adores dogs and cats and is extremely loving to all animals. When we found out they host parties it seemed like a great idea to have her party there. The kids got to tour the facility, feed the rabbits, play with a dog and bunnies. The highlight, or low light depending on how you look at it, was when Skipper the dog we were playing with, peed on Madeline. Yep, he lifted his leg and peed on her ugg boot, right down her leg and into the boot. She said it was the worst birthday present she ever got! No worries though, she was cleaned up and ready to have cake and game time. All and all, a great party.
